Judgement is Ignorance... Beauty is Confidence ♥

Chèr Intellos Roses,
Yes, that was written in French and if you know a little bit of french, you might have been able to understand that that meant 'Dear Pink Nerds'. As my friends might tell you, as much as I find bullying a big issue, I'm not much for listening to people talk about it. People think that's just because I don't care but really, it's because they all repeat the same things and everyone nods and agrees but no one ever does it. They all say things like 'You can make a difference if you stand up to a bully! Tell them it's mean and that no one likes it.' and yes, that would be the ideal thing to say but no one is ready to do that. I don't think we can ever fix bullies, however, I do believe that we can help the hurt and boost our confidence (without becoming arrogant of course!) I don't want to listen to people talk about bullying to "raise awareness", I want to make a difference. Bullying is definetly a problem but it wouldn't be so serious if we were a little bit more confident, especially us girls so today that's what I'm going to talk about: confident women.

Judgement is Ignorance...
Those who run around only judging you, will never know happiness. Many people who have low self-esteem judge others because they think it makes them look better. The problem with that is that people usually will do the same thing to you that you do to them so if those with low self-esteem judge, then they will be judged back. It's a vicious cycle and someone needs to end it. If you want more friends, or to be looked at in a new light, I must warn you, judegement is not the way to go. If you judge people, Ignorance is going to be your best friend and nothing else. If you still think that judgement is the way to go, I hope this celeb will change your mind. I'll pass you over to Hayley now ☺

Beauty is Confidence...
Yes, makeup is fun to put on and stuff but it doesn't make you beautiful. If you wear bright red lipstick, it won't look good unless you smile with your eyes, lips and heart. To walk around with confidence (as long as you don't think you're better than everyone else) truly makes you beautiful. A smile sends people the message that you are happy, nice and friendly and if you add good posture to that, you've got a girl that looks talented and confident too! Beauty truly is confidence so flash those pearly whites and stand tall and strong. Afterall, would you rather be friends with a judgemental girl, or a confident one? Be the girl you wanna be. You are you, and no one can judge who you are, except for you.

Celebrity Inspiration
So as much as so many people may say things like "Express Yourself" and "Be Different", celebrities say the same things. The photo above ^ is actually a quote from the legendary Dr. Seuss and there is no arguing that Dr.Seuss is brilliant. But since there is so much more celebrity inspiration that surrounds us, I thought I should share some more!

Doesn't mean I'm lonely when I'm alone ♪
Many of us know that song; What Doesn't Kill You by Kelly Clarkson. She talks about breaking down but at the chorus, she explodes with confidence and truly shows that what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, and I think we all need to remember that. We all have reasons to complain or to break down and cry but if you stand tall and make it through it, you become stronger than you ever were, and stronger than anyone else. Kelly's words are definetly a few of my To Live By words. To listen to the song, click here. Trust me, it will alway make you feel stronger ;)

Aurevoir (Goodbye)
To all the lonely, hopeless or depressed girls out there, you are not alone and it will get better. I had a terrible year untill about 2 weeks ago and then I was overfilled with joy. There will always be jerks in the world and one of them will always be out there to get you but if you are confident, smile and lift other people's spirits instead of bringing them down, those bitchy comments won't matter to you.

Best Weekend Ever ☺

Hey Pink Nerds,
So I know I haven't blogged in almost a week-sorry-but Grease is running my life right now. On Monday, I got home from school and had the chance to do a post but an hour later I had to leave for rehearsal. On Tuesday, I had loads of homework and once I had finished, I needed to go to rehearsal. On Wednesday and Thursday, I had to do school shows and once I got back, I did tons of homework and then slept. On Friday I had school, then homework, then opening night. And finally on Saturday, I went to go see  The Hunger Games (with Andrew!) and by the time that was over I had another show and then Emma slept over. So as you can see I have not had much of a chance to blog! Anyway, I don't have rehearsal or shows until Wednesday so I'll try and blog as much as I can 'till then.

So opening night for Grease literally had me jumping around in circles and doing a little happy dance. Honestly, for KYMTC's opening nights, they usually don't sell too many tickets. However, this year they sold out! as any performer will tell you, your audience affects your energy level and since we had a full house and a super responsive crowd, we did ahmazing! The crowd laughed at every joke and cheered crazy loud after every song and scene and if you solve this equation properly, here is what you will get: Amazing Crowd + Great Lighting + Fantastic Backstage Crew + Talented Musicians + Awesome Producer and Director + Best Cast Ever = Awesome Show!!! So clearly I had reason to be jumping around like a maniac screaming 'That was awwwsome!'

The next day, I went to go see The Hunger Games! I don't want to spoil anything so I won't say very much but I must say that (1) The movie was worthy of 4 stars in my opinion, and (2) I had an amazing time with Andrew ☺ Anyway, I'm gonna move on with the rest of my day now. By the time I got back from the movie (like I said above) I had to leave for Grease - show #2! That night, we oversold on tickets by about 22! They were scrambling to fit in all the extra chairs and for the first time, they had to turn people away! Unfortunetly, we had less energy that night but at the end of the show, we got a standing ovation! I swear that this will be KYMTC's best production yet! Plus, afterward Emma sleptover and we watched a terrible movie: Breaking Dawn! :P Saturday was by far the best day I've had this school year ♥

On Sunday, not all that much happened but it was still a good day. I went to church (and saw Andrew!) and after, I got the book Julie & Julia. After, I watched the movie 3 times over and began reading the book and the blog. I then became obsessed with rich food and following tons of cooking blogs (yes Emma, I have indeed tried your recipes; they rock!) I ate tons of brie cheese and had pasta with tons of basil and it was awesome! The only bad part of my weekend was that I had to do homeowrk. But that homework was writing a history script and it wasn't half bad so, even that was pretty good.

So after months of terrible days, that weekend had me happy as could be and I really think it was the best weekend of my life. Comments and subscriptions are greatly appreciated as always and I would especially like th\o thank my readers from the United States because this month, I had more views from the US than from Canada!

Lots of Love,
Meaghan ♥

March Break & The Hunger Games ♥

Oh my gosh guys, I have so much to write about! But first I'll just apologize for not blogging over the March break! I would have but the campsite I was at didn't have Wi-Fi. As much as I'm sure none of you check my blog too often, I will try and post a little more.

So as you may know, for March break I went to Charleston, South Carolina. As much as an 18 hour drive there is very tiring, I think it was good because I got to see tons of things along the way. The first really cool thing on the way to Charleston was Hershey, Pensilvania. Yes, there is actually a town called Hershey. We went into the original Hershey factory and we went on a little tour. We got into these little train cart sorta things and it took us around the factory to show us how they made the chocolate. I swear, the place reminded me so much of Willy Wonka's chocolate factory :P After 9 hours of driving we stopped in Washington, DC for a night. That night was fairly uneventful though so I'll move on. On my way to Charleston the next day, I saw my very first palm trees! I was shocked to see that there were so many though and the southern pine trees were so much different than the one's up in Canada. The drive was long, it consisted of listening to my i-Pod and being drooled on by my dog, but finally, we arrived at our destination.

Day 1 in Charleston - Making New Friends
During our first day in Charleston, my dad called up an old friend who lived nearby. Just as he hung up I felt the car turning around on me and I realized, we were going to see her and her family. Carol (my dad's friend) is now married and has a daughter and a dog. Her daughters name is Natasha and I must say, I didn't think I would like her all that much since she seemed very classy. But it turns out, I was very wrong. When I met Natasha she just talked and talked about how much fun I was going to have and she told me all about the history of Charlseton. We took a walk in the park with my dog (Brucie) and her dog (Gypsy) and it turns out, our dogs are fond of eachother too! The day went by quickly but it was really cool to go so far away, and still feel welcome. OH! I almost forgot! Carole made me... butterbeer!!! It was so freaking amazing! Rock on Harry Potter Fans!

Day 2 in Charleston - Shop 'Till You Drop (Literally)
The next day, my family decided to go up to North Charleston to Tanger Outlets to do some shopping (my favourite!) I didn't go into an awful lot of stores but we managed to spend all day shopping! I had already bought my first maxi dress at JR on my way to Charleston but I got more at Tanger. My first purchase at Tanger was an adorable tangerine coloured summer dress from American Eagle. I absolutely love the neckline and since I got it at an outlet mall, I got it for $30 instead of $50! The next store I stopped into was Bath and Bodyworks (I ♥ B and B) I bought my mom a couple of tropical scented candles so that she could bring the smell of vacation away with her but I bought myself a treat too (or 7 treats...) I got 4 different hand sanitizers and they smell amazing! Here are the scents: frosting, cookie dough, peaches and green apple. I am obsessed with them! But not as much as the 3 different body sprays I got: Pink Chiffon, Carried Away and Country Chic. I luv them!!! At Old Navy I got my annual 2 for $5 flip-flops in blue and yellow and at some random shoe store (I can't remember the name!) I got a pair of everyday shoes (converse low-top style) and running shoes for gym. Anyway, that was all I could handle that day since my feet were aching up!

Day 3 & 4 in Charleston - Go to the Beach, Swim, Get Tanned!
Self explanitory.

Day 5 in Charleston - Finish the Way We Started
On my final day in Charleston, I basically did the same thing as I did on the first day in Charleston. I hung out with Carole, Natasha, Richard, Gypsy and Bruce and two other friends of my dad. I was glad to spend my last day with them, but it was hard to say goodbye. I guess I can quote Harry Potter's line in the movie Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 "Let's finish things the way we started; together..."

As you can see, I never did run into Emma, but it was cool to know that she was nearby, even though I was hours away from my hometown. On my way back, a few minor things happened but I guess they're note-worthy too... I got glow in the dark nail polish, I got amazing pins from Hot-Topic (Emma you must see them, you'll absolutely love them!!!) and finally I saw the cherry blossoms in Washington.

The last thing I absolutely must mention is that I'm going to see The Hunger Games with...

South Carolina and Random Bloggering

Hey Pink Nerds,

School was totally awful. There's this girl at my school who is friends with all of my friends, but she hates me. I swear that I try my best to be super nice, but I am not invinsible, I can break. I tell her "I like your hat!" and she ackwardly says thanks and then gives me dirty looks and talks to me with awfully rude tones in her voice. Finally, she seemed to losen up but when I completely accidently got her out in four square and said "Oh my God, I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to!" she said "You're so not sorry." and then bumped into me as she walked past. Some of my friends give me sorry looks when stuff like that happends but I know they don't care enough to say or do anything. The thing that hurts the most is that I know I'm not, and never will be, any of my friends' first pick. If I ask any of my friends to sit with me but then another one of their friends ask at the exact same time, they'll chose the other friend. I know that they're not trying to be mean but I can never walk away from them feeling better than before I talked to them. I do know that not all of my friends are like this though, I just don't want to name them. All day I'm pretty sure they thought I was being a jerk and a downer simply because I wanted to but they don't understand. Most of my friends all got into Canterbury or Colonel By and I'm not going to either. The friends that are going to the same high school as me will obviously pick the girl that hates me, instead of me. So on my first day of high school, I'm gonna be the loner. The most I've ever been happy this year is for one day. I've cried 7 times on the bus home and over 12 at home because of someone at school. I'm sorry if this is making you all bored or if you think I'm being a pessimist but I can't hold any of this in anymore! I am at a breakingpoint and I'm about to explode. Everyday there is at least one point where I feel like bursting into tears or punching someone in the face, or even both! But at least, today, something made me feel better...

When I called Emma to talk to her about it all, she was busy. At first it made me sad but then she said it was because she was packing for South Carolina!!! If you missed the blog post where I mentioned this; I am going to South Carolina this March break too! When I first found out I was going to South Carolina, I must admit I wasn't all that excited. Usually, when we go on vacation someone in my family goes mad. But I think my perspective changed today. I do believe that I had reason to do all that complaining in the paragraph above ^^ but I do know that I need to be a little bit more optimistic. So now, I am just looking forward to going South and being warm, getting time away from the people at my school, and maybe just getting to relax.

The second thing that made me feel a bit better is the fact that I have youth group tonight! As much as I do not like being mixed in with another youth group now, I do get to see another person who can always make me feel better. I don't think I have to say the name for my friends to know who I'm talking about ;) Anyway, I need to go and make dinner now!

Attend a Boring Presentation and Get an Odd Bath Goo Mix...?

Heyo mah Pink Nerdy Friends,

Today at school, we went on a field trip! Sounds exciting right? Well... it wasn't. We went to Scotiabank Place to listen to some people talk about the technology of the giant Bell TV above the Sens rink and then they talked about friction and some other boring topic. At first we were all thinking Okay, don't be negative, it might be decent... but when the people began talking, the said each word as if they were talking to 4-year-olds. After about 10 minutes of them blabbering on, Alicia and I just listened to the radio through her phone. Even some of the teachers weren't paying attention! When 12:00 came, the Sens finally came out to practice. The practice was very slow and boring and the arena was too bright to seem exciting so no one was watching. Instead, we all left and looked around at the concession stands hoping that our friends would buy us something. Finally, it was time to go back to the school, we were asked to carry tons of boxes to the bus because apparently, we had won a bath goo mix, or something... Turns out that it turns your bath water into go and then back into water. On the bus ride home, Katelyn gave me the rest of her Timbits, someone used the bath goo mix in their water bottle (it worked!) and I listened to Skrillex all the way home. I thought the actual presentation was supposed to be the fun part... intstead it was the ride home! Got to go to rehearsal now though.
